Tracy reunites with her alienated mother
This is the follow-up to the article titled Revelation for an Alienated College student.
On January 6, 2023, I posted an article titled Revelation for an Alienated College student. Since then, a lovely reunion between mother and daughter has moved from hope to loving and kindness. You can read the article by clicking here.
A Parental Alienation Success Story
When Tracy was roughly eight, her mother, Sarah, discovered her husband was having an affair and had been for nearly five years. When Sarah confronted her husband, a police officer from a small town located in Virginia, he denied having an affair. Sarah later confronted him with love notes he received from his mistress, and hostility and physical abuse began.
Sarah attempted to promote peace and counseling resolutions, and her husband demanded she must not leave him, but he wasn’t willing to stop seeing his mistress. The abuse and affairs took their toll on Sarah, and Sarah sought help from her mother and father to pay for legal fees for her separation and later divorce. Moreover, when her husband was served papers for separation, he countered by filing false information before the magistrate. An emergency hearing was obtained by her husband to remove Tracy from her care He claimed she was an unfit mother and trafficked cocaine; one of his police buddies claimed to validate her husband’s false claims.
The accusations were simply hearsay, with no physical evidence provided. She was charged with a felony for the distribution of cocaine. No one could not provide any physical evidence of this crime, and it was only circumstantial based solely on her husband and her husband’s friend, who was also a police officer. His sworn testimony was admitted because of the claims by her husband. The judge was a friend of her husband, and he issued an emergency two-year protective order against Sarah.
A few days after the protective order hearing, Sarah was arrested and charged with cocaine distribution. She realized she might lose her freedom for five to ten years based on multiple related charges, and her parents didn’t have the proper sum of money to help her litigate what would most likely be a long, drawn-out court case. Sarah had no income at that time and was a stay-at-home Mom.
Her Husband Demands that she give up her rights
Her husband demanded she forfeit the rights to her daughter, allowing him to take care of Tracey as a single parent. To make this even more heinous, she would also be ordered to pay child support. In exchange, he would drop the charges. Sarah confirmed to me that she had few options, and every day she died a little more, knowing she had limited options. A part of, her died every day knowing she had signed over her rights to the monster. He also told her that if she, attempted to reach out to Tracy, he would hunt her down like a wild animal. She honestly believed in her heart he would have done so.
She couldn’t cope with her daughter being stolen from her, and so she turned to alcohol to numb the pain. Alcohol was her drug of choice, and it helped her to cope with her broken heart. She went cold turkey the day she was accepted into college. It was her determination to understand the laws which undermined her as a mother. She bravely decided to see Tracy when she became an adult.
The day of Tracy and Sarah’s reunion took place nearly ten years after they had been torn from each other.
Recently Sarah invited me to lunch; she was eager to share more about the reunion.
I asked her permission to take notes and share part of her story. She was willing to allow some remarks, and those added here are provided with her consent.
A little more about Sarah’s Conflict
I wish to preface our meeting with Sarah’s demeanor. I’ve known her for a long time. Several years ago, she asked my opinion about the former judge’s ruling and the information written by her former husband, which triggered the protective order. She also showed me her agreement, which was where she had legally signed over her full parental rights to the abusive father, the police officer. I also read the agreement, the contract the former husband’s lawyer prepared, which mentions his position to drop all charges once she signed the deal. Her former husband is now a Sergeant in the police department. His friend, who provided false testimony, was fired nearly five years ago for using excessive force against a senior citizen. Like many alienated parents, Sarah has endured grave injustices against her character, and she suffered deep dark depression and began using alcohol to cope.
My lunch with Sarah and seeing her smile again
Our two-hour lunch began with seeing her with a huge smile. I haven’t seen her smile often, so it was beautiful. She happily stated that her daughter could complete most of her sentences, and both have the same type of dog, a Goldendoodle. They both like the same flavor of coffee from Starbucks, and neither of them has a boyfriend. Since their reunion on Jan 7, 2023, they have only missed a few days of not seeing one another. Sarah had reintroduced her daughter to her family a few weekends ago, and she was welcomed with love and open arms. She thought their reunion would be problematic, but Tracey has an open mind and genuine concern for the truth. Her difficulty is now with her father’s years of deception about her mother.
What about the lies the father told his daughter?
I asked Sarah if she would be open about the lies the father told her daughter. I’m presenting to the reader, verbatim, as she shared with me. “Darel, I could not believe the lies the f****r said about me for nearly a decade. I knew he had stolen my daughter, and his police friend was an accomplice. The sorry excuse for a judge refused to listen to my complaint and sided with the cops in the room. I didn’t have a chance that they would imprison me for something I had never done.
Not only did her father lie about drug trafficking cocaine, but he also told Tracy I was peddling child porn, and I received a prison sentence of 30 years. He also told Tracy the courts forbid her from contacting Tracy, which was a lie. The three issues he presented were lies, and he even lied about me having an affair, and I was faithful to him during the time we dated, engaged, and later married. He also told Tracey I had a habit of leaving her at school and that the school would have to call him because I was a no-show, and none of his statements had ever been confirmed.”
What about Tracy, the daughter?
We all want to know how Tracy is doing. Sarah spent most of our lunch talking about her daughter, and she asked me only to share a few things. Perhaps in the future, she will be open to providing another semi-public update.
Sarah and Tracy’s reunion is a success story amid cases of parental alienation. It’s rare for parents and kids to be reunited after a decade apart. Sarah recognizes that being hated by her husband and alienated as a mother, but she also acknowledges that he took care of Tracy’s needs and helped prepare Tracy for college.
Tracy has confronted her father for the acts of alienation and the lies, and at this point, they are trying to overcome this new reality.
Sarah and Tracy’s future
Sarah and Tracy have summer plans during Tracy’s summer break to take a month-long road trip. Now that they have found one another, they plan on being a part of each other lives through it all.
My final thoughts
For those who endure Parental Alienation, we can celebrate the reunion with Sarah and Tracy. For those of us who haven’t reunited with our alienated children, we find hope in hearing such reunion stories. Moreover, the story highlights two important points about the reunion and another important fact on Sarah’s part. For a while, being the alienated parent nearly destroyed Sarah’s life with alcoholism, but not only has she overcome the alienation, but she overcame her addiction to alcohol. During her years of depression and loss, she overcomes parental alienation and obtained her law degree.
My prayers and hopes extend to Sarah and Tracy’s future, and to everyone reading this article.
Love is the greatest defender,
